Education for all ages

The community of All Saints believes in the importance of lifelong learning; therefore programs and activities are available for all ages.

Nursery: Infants through age 5 are welcomed in the nursery room located near the 5th St. entrance. It is staffed by volunteers year-round and by paid staff during the school year. There is a changing table in the bathroom next door to the nursery.

Preschool-Upper Elementary: Each Sunday at 9:30am, children ages 4-12 gather together to experience Bible stories and concepts through the use of all their senses. Art, drama, story, geography, cooking, music, computer and movie workshops are used. Education hour is held September through May in the hour before the Sunday service. Children also participate in service projects both within the church and outside the church in local, national and international issues.

Youth Program: A group of young people meets on a monthly basis to enjoy each other's company, enjoy a meal, and then do some type of activity. Youth meet and discuss what activities they would like to do and then adult leaders help in the planning. Recent activities included bowling, making and decorating cookies for the United Christmas Sharing Program and a movie afternoon. Junior and senior high school students also have opportunities to participate in a Confirmation Discernment Program, acolyting and numerous gatherings with youth from other area churches.

Adults: Adult Forum meets in the Fireside Room at 9:30am prior to regular worship—an opportunity for us to hear and learn from each other and from outside guests about issues that matter in our lives.  Adult Forum is neither a prayer meeting, nor a debating society. The aim is to have a conversation within our Episcopal family and to encounter perspectives in the wider world. Occasionally small readings will be available in advance; sometimes a guest from a certain walk of life, a chaplain, a psychologist, a member of another faith community, will share his or her joys, interests, and concerns with us.

Intergenerational Events: several times throughout the year, the parish sponsors events where all ages can gather and play, pray and learn together. Festivals include:

  • Pet blessing on St. Francis Day
  • Advent Wreath Making Festival
  • Mardi Gras Party
